Public Transit on Oahu

The Oahu Hawaii bus system (called The Bus) connects most towns and tourist destinations on the Island of Oahu.

Bus fare is $2.25 for adults and exact change is required.  A four day Tourist Pass can be purchase for around $20.00 at convenience stores.  For more information, please visit the TheBus website.

Bus service also is available from the Honolulu Airport to Honolulu city centre and to Waikiki. Frequent bus service operates between Waikiki and the Honolulu business district (buses 2, 13, 19, 20 and 47).

Public Transit on Oahu Hawaii

The "beach bus" runs from the Ala Moana Shopping Centre, through Waikiki to beaches on the east coast of the island.  It also stops at Hanauma Bay (snorkeling destination).  Unfortunately the bus is frequently crowded and runs only twice per hour.

In addition, many hotels provide a free shuttle bus service for their customers between Waikiki and the airport.
